Rugs, Runners & Carpets

Some projects seem to have a lot of carpeting and others virtually none, but either way the possibilities are endless. With Jonathan's previous connections to Roger Oates Designs he has a very good knowledge of the carpet industry and uses that to the benefit of his clients when suitable. Finding a plain or textured carpet to match any scheme is a relatively simple task, but when it comes to patterned carpets we prefer to use bespoke designs that are more in keeping with the style and colour scheme of a project. This is not necessarily a more expensive option and gives the freedom most carpet suppliers are unable to produce.

When it comes to stair runners Roger Oates is the preferred option, but if budget is an issue there are a few cheaper alternatives that look nearly as stylish. Again bespoke carpets are always considered on the grander flights. Skilled carpet fitters are the key to fitting the more complicated designs.

When it comes to rugs, the world is quite literally your oyster. There are endless sources of oriental rugs on sale over the internet, but we always recommend trying before you purchase anything. We have contacts with British based and foreign dealers from whom we can obtain very competitive prices, but the world of oriental rugs is not a straight forward one. The pricing structure of two items that may look fairly similar can vary tremendously, due to the history, region, quality and density of the rug. Our rule of thumb on the more expensive items is to only buy them if you have fallen in love.

We also have contacts with dealers of Aubusson, and more contemporary rugs made from all sorts of materials from wool to leather and even paper and banana fibres. Naturally, if nothing else fits there is always the bespoke option.
